Response to the ''Veldt''
What do I think about the book. The book was ok, but I apprecite the themes. One of them was ''more is not always better.'' That is ture. One example would be fast food in America. We live in a culture where we can have as much food we want and not have to worry about dying of starvation but yet we are killing ourselfes ith obesity.
"That sounds dreadful! Would I have
to tie my own shoe instead of letting the shoe tier do it? And brush my own
teeth and comb my hair and give myself a bath?" This means something deeper then what you might think. In mordern society we do not do anything we dont have to do. It shows how we have prograssed from Cave Men to masters of this Earth.

Architecture and Growth
On my Island most people live in Luxury Huts. These huts have every feature of mordern life. On this island the military has a base on the other side of the island away from the population. This base makes sure every one is safe. The main goverment house is located in the center of the population center and is a two story building. There is also a storage hut for all the surpplies and a safe to hold all our money from the banks.

Goverment
The leader and Head of State is the Chancellor. The chancellor has ultimate power and is the finale say so in all matters. The chancellor's main job is to make sure the people of the island has the best possible time as possible. The first leader is the one who founded the nation. His succesor is picked by him. He has a group of advisors to help him run the island. The goverment has the military, which is made up of volenteers. They will arrest anyperson who breaks a law. The leader is the Judge and will decide what will happan. Prisoners have to leave the island as soon as possible. The military also maintains order. We do not help people who needs help so we send them away. There are few laws other then you must be born between 1990-1999 or be there decendents. You must not harm any one or mess up the island. The constition has more laws
Community
Part A
On this island every one is part of one community. All kids go to the same school, all people party on the same beach, and all people know each other. People can practice any religion they want as long it does not harm anybody. Wealth is determine by how much you work. You wont have any money if you dont have a job. There are no groups or class groups since there is a selection process from the goverment.
Part B
Urban and regional planners develop plans and programs for the use of land. They use planning to create communities, accommodate growth, or revitalize physical facilities in towns, cities, counties, and metropolitan areas.
Nearly two-thirds of urban and regional planners worked in local government in 2010. Most planners work during normal business hours, but many also work evenings or weekends to attend meetings with planning commissions or neighborhood groups.
Urban and regional planners usually need a master’s degree from an accredited planning program to qualify for professional positions. These jobs often require several years of related work experience.
The median annual wage of urban and regional planners was $63,040 in May 2010.
Employment of urban and regional planners is expected to grow 16 percent from 2010 to 2020, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Population growth and environmental concerns will drive employment growth for planners.
Part C
I think the poem means that as a single person we are nothing, but as a group we are something. Every time we lose someone we get smaller, every time some joins us we get better.

This picture repersents my Utopia. Every one here has fun like a child would. By having Lego soliders it explains that people on the island can do what they want such as but not limited playing with toys. But the second reason for this picture is that the ulimate power is with the goverment alone and that all people must follow the goverment to enjoy their lives.
Dailey Life and Econmy
The econmy of our island is mainly banking. Like the Cayman islands people can put large amounts of money, no question asked. By giving loans and charging intrese, it will be the main way of income. People living on the island may start a business with permission of the goverment. People may get a job working there and pay them with American Dollars or Euros. People may sleep as long as they want but must be up by 12 noon. You may go to your job or walk along the beach. You can not drop trash or any other forms of pollution. There are no bed times althought most people are alsleep by 1 at night, except on Holidays. We have parties every night to have fun. Things to do are watching tv, exploring the jungles, or playing sports. We enjoy holidays like New years, March 8, Halloween, and pretty much any summer night. Food is imported from over seas.
This is my island the head of state is Mohammad Salem. It is located the the south Pacific near Australia in the zone of Fiji. The land area is 112 acres.Narara Island is located off the southern coast of Naviti, one of the larger islands that form the southern part of the Yasawa Group of islands. The Yasawa Group consists of six main islands and numerous smaller inlets and is positioned within one of Fiji's premier island resort localities. Narara Island enjoys drier weather than other parts of the country and has beautiful scenery with white sandy beaches and lagoons.
Surrounding island resorts within the Group include Navutu Stars Resort, Nanuya Island Resort, Turtle Island and Yasawa lodge.
Narara Island has an area of approximately 112 acres and has excellent physical characteristics, including three very private, white, sandy beaches.
Average temperatures on the island range from 25 to 27 degrees (with a 2-4 degree variance in the cooler months).
The main mode of transport to the island is by helicopter, sea plane or by boat. From Nadi International Airport it is just a scenic 15-20 minute flight to the Island. Helicopter transfer is also available from Denarau Island. Marine transfer by the Yasawa Flyer is approximately 3 ½ hours, operating a daily route to the Yasawa Group from port Denarau.
